How to delete your account

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the app:

1. Open the Heydao app
2. Go to Settings
3. Tap Delete Account
4. Confirm when prompted

If you cannot sign in to the app, email privacy@heydao.app from the email or phone number on your account, and we will help you delete it after verifying your identity.

What data is deleted

When you delete your account, we remove the personal data you own, including:

• Your profile (nickname, avatar, bio, age, gender, city, etc.)
• Photos and videos you uploaded (avatar, stories, chat)
• Stories and comments you posted
• Your group and chat-room memberships
• Gatherings you hosted, trips, and applications
• Reputation events and the appeals / review requests you submitted
• Emergency contacts, login-device records, and push tokens
• City-level location history used for attendance checks
• Your block list (both directions)

This personal data is permanently removed within 30 days of deletion. Deleted data cannot be recovered.

About the chat messages you sent: so we don’t destroy other people’s conversation history, the text of messages you sent in one-to-one, quick-match, and gaming private chats and in group/chat rooms is kept for the other party; but you are anonymized there — shown as “Deleted user” with a gray “X” avatar and a profile that can no longer be opened, and images you sent in private chats are cleared. This matches Section 3 of our Privacy Policy.

What we retain, and why

For safety, trust, and legal-compliance purposes, we may retain a minimal, where-possible de-identified set of records:

• Report evidence filed about you (kept to protect the safety of other users)
• Safety records related to serious violations or reputation, and consent records, to prevent ban evasion and meet legal obligations
• Safety escalation records (e.g. involving child safety) retained long-term as required by law
